Guess, what guys! I am not, nor will I ever be, a fashionista of any kind. I have never said. “I’ll never wear XYZ” but I don’t particularly experiment with the latest trends either. Don’t get me wrong – I always put effort into my style and invest in clothes that I’m proud to wear. However, I’m also in no position to be claiming that my style is make-or-break in today’s society. Simple.
Sometimes I’m all about floral dresses, other times jeans and white sneakers. I’m all over the place and I’m in dire need of a glow-up. So, giving my fashion style a make-over is exactly the kick in the butt I need. Now, where’s the fairy godmother or personal stylist to whip this together for me…? I’m waiting.
Darn, I’ll have to do it myself. No worries – I have a quiz that I just made up.

What makes you feel sexiest?
This is going to be your power uniform – it enhances your mood! So, dress around it. For example, I feel my sexiest when I put on a tight, high-waisted pair of jeans. Why? Because they elongate my legs, they flatter my hips, and they accentuate my curves. They also lift my bum. I have a specific cut/brand of jeans that I’ve purchased in every color and state of distress. (For the record, Nobody denim – an Australian brand. Cult skinny – you’re welcome). Back in Australia when I had very little money, I would stalk every sample sale for Nobody and literally stock up on jeans. Then it branched into denim shorts (different story). When I put on a pair of these jeans, I can dress them up with a low-cut top and some gold necklaces. Maybe a black button-down with a lace bra underneath. Or a loose-fitting sheer colored top if the sun is out! This is what makes me feel sexy, so I wear it knowing I look sexy.
What’s your staple clothing Item?
Don’t get the stable confused with the sexy! Your staple is the clothing item you own that you have 3 copies of because it goes with everything. Mine is my go-to white cotton t-shirt. White is really flattering to my skin tone and I can dress it up or down depending on the occasion. Also, I can use it as a blank canvas for statement necklaces, bright color scarves, or under a jacket. Whatever your staple is, appreciate the versatility of this item and have fun experimenting with how many ways you can use it. You’re already confident that it fits, it’s flattering, and you’re comfortable wearing it… so get creative and send me some pics for inspo!
How early in advance do you plan your outfits?
One habit I have adopted years ago is planning my outfits. I invested in one of those closet divider mesh shelves and, every Sunday, I plan my work outfits for the week. I’m an annoying morning person, but even I get caught changing several outfits and losing track of time than missing the L Train to change at Union Square heading uptown to Bryant Park (for those of you unfamiliar with the New York subway, that is the WORST). So, I dedicate the time (15-25 mins, as I’ve streamlined the process) to folding and arranging each outfit every Sunday (including gym clothes, underwear, accessories, and shoes). I’m guaranteed a boss-looking ensemble and, because I’ve invested the time prior, I get the opportunity to experiment and not settle for wearing the same thing every day.
I’ve had days where I was so bored, I tried on different clothes to mix and match what works and what doesn’t. Cue the Clueless scene where she uses her computer to match her outfit for the day (has anyone developed an app for this yet? If not – shotgun). Now that I’ve dedicated the time, I have a fool-proof outfit that completely aligns with this blue choker ribbon I’m trying. I’m happy how it turned out!
As I said, there’s no wrong or right answer to these questions – but for optimal results, you need to put in the work and commit. Plan the night before or get up an hour earlier. Or, if you don’t have time, wear something fool-proof that you’ve worn before. I support you!
What’s your favorite part of your body?
I want to wake up one morning and love all of me equally. I’m getting to a point where I can love my body, respect it, be nice to it, and in turn be the self-loving MFF I aspire to be. I’m working on it – but for now…. I would have to say that I LOVE MY BOOBS. And my butt. And my legs. But mostly my boobs. I’ll admit it, I’ve caught myself cupping them while binge-watching Grey's Anatomy. And I love when a man grabs them, chews them, sucks them… whatever. They’re real and I’m lucky to have been gifted great tits. SO, I'm GOING TO CELEBRATE THEM! And don’t you dare try and shame me for it; I’ll breathe fire if you do!
Whatever that piece of your body is that you love, WORSHIP IT. Share it with the world. Throw it a party. (Seriously considering throwing my boobs a birthday party this year, I think they deserve it.
At the end of the day, a modern femme fatale takes pride in her appearance for her own self-satisfaction. You wear whatever you want to wear and you wear it with pride.
An olden-days’ representation of a femme fatale would always be dressed in black, sexy, sultry dresses, with a cigarette on a stick, bold lipstick, and big hair. I know, she’s gorgeous, but that doesn’t immediately translate to 2020. So, I’ve developed a list of go-to everyday clothing items that scream attitude and are versatile no matter the occasion.
- Red lipstick
Or a shade that suits your skin tone in that same family.
- Cocktail dress
Black preferably, but a bold color none the less.
- Red dress
Need I say more? The length, cut, fit – that’s for you pending your body type, but an MFF always needs a sultry red dress.
- High-waisted jeans.
You know they make that booty pop and accentuate your beautiful feminine curves.
- White t-shirt
Easily the most versatile piece of clothing as you can dress it up in so many ways and it makes you look angelic.
- Gold hoop earrings
You know it to be true. They’re timeless.
- Leather jacket
Or faux leather, no-one can tell really. It adds attitude and that Sandy Olsen-sexy to any ensemble.
- Black singlet top
For the girls. Dress it in a black blazer, leather jacket, jeans, whatever. It’s flattering for your neck, shoulders, and boobies, but also sleek and slimming.
- The black blazer
Fitted, please! None of that boyfriend blazer stuff. If you’re going to invest in professional work to table blazer, make sure it accentuates your curves.
- White summer dress
Scary, I know. A white dress. But on those hot days you’ll be thanking me when you will feel light and playful - just avoid red-based foods.
Whatever you wear, I know you look amazing. Plus, when you put that little more time into it, you walk with pride and that’s all that matters.
